We have looked at parts of the Trumpish mindset. Now we can put them together. Where did it come from? (Hint: Start with vicious Southern entitlement, and spread it around.) How has it worked? What now? What next?

And most significantly, what can we do about it? Do them good, of course.

If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;

For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you.

Proverbs 25:21-22; quoted by Paul in Romans 12:20

Give them full health care, better education, better pay, better jobs...everything they could wish for but are deathly afraid of Those People getting. And then the only disaster will be the collapse of White Privilege. Which will be plenty big enough for some of them to complain about forever, to be sure.

The Long Southern Strategy: How Chasing White Voters in the South Changed American Politics, by Angie Maxwell and Todd Shields

After Harry Truman ordered the desegregation of the US military in 1948, Strom Thurmond bolted from the Democratic Party, and ran against Truman on the Dixiecrat ticket. Truman beat both Thurmond and Dewey, regardless of what the MSM thought.

After LBJ got the Civil Rights Act (CRA) through Congress in 1964, with other Civil Rights legislation set to follow, Barry Goldwater ran against him and it in a States Rights dog whistle campaign, pretending that he wasn't racist, but the CRA was monstrous government overreach. The South got the message, and the entire rest of the country repudiated it.

Thurmond, in response to Goldwater, went and became a Republican.

Then things got serious.
