What Do We Want?—Russia Out; When Do We Want It?—Now! Sorry, but Putin is doubling down on the disaster, to “denazify” Ukraine of tyrannical Jews and Liberals and NATO chemical weapons labs and the rest of his phantasmagoria. He is chewing out his cabinet and his generals in public, and firing anyone who tries to tell him the truth. The survivors are on notice to achieve something, anything, in Ukraine, or suffer the same fate next. Hence worse stagnation, worse supply problems, worse morale, and especially, worse war crimes.

Everybody has noticed that this meshugas has had many salutary effects on the world.

  • Contrary to Putin’s plan to split and neutralize NATO, it is more unified and more effective than ever, within the limits of Article 5, which says that it will only take an active role in combat when a member country is attacked.
  • Contrary to Putin’s warnings to Finland and Sweden not to even think about joining NATO, they are now actively looking into it.
  • Contrary to Putin’s plan to split and neutralize the EU, it is more unified and more effective than ever, particularly on cutting off Russian oil and gas, sanctions, and considering an expedited membership process for Ukraine, Georgia, and perhaps other countries.
  • Contrary to Putin’s plans for world oil and gas domination, plans to go full ahead on renewables are being greatly accelerated among all of the countries that are going in on the gas and oil embargoes.
  • Contrary to Putin’s plan for a sort of Amalgamated Evil Empires, Inc. under his thumb, authoritarian autocrats who have generally sided with Putin in the past have decided that this is too much—in Poland, Hungary, Turkey, even Kazakhstan. Maybe Venezuela. Not the Middle Eastern OPEC countries or Iran, though.

Could NATO Pilots Volunteer to Create a No-Fly Zone?

No, but Poland has offered all of its MiG fighter jets to the US to give to Poland. DoD says no, but NATO said Nuh-uh! to any jets for Poland only a week ago. Watch this airspace.

  • Only two days ago Russians cut off electricity to the Chernobyl nuclear tomb, raising the prospect of an uncontrolled release of radioactivity as the waste storage ponds overheat.
  • Only today Putin’s forces bombed the courtyard of a maternity hospital.

And so on, both Putin’s provocations and the increasing reactions against them.

But that is not our story today. You’ve heard that, here and elsewhere. No, we are going to learn from history, as Putin has not.
